healthy eatingLike everyone who is conscious about her/his health, I too have long undertaken the journey through the twists and turns of roads towards health. During this journey, I always read and contemplate, and finally I have come to the conclusion that to eat the right way is one of the most important and surefire way to achieve health.

Our Body is Attentive to What We Eat

When we drop something in the sac called stomach, our body concentrates its attention on what we have sent to it, like children in a household run eagerly to an adult entering the house with lots of bags in her/his hands to see what the bags contain. Our body gets disappointed when we put in some junk which has no nutrition, just like the children get disappointed to find that the bags contain nothing of their interest. And just like these children who develop an irritation inside them upon not getting things they want, our body too remains irritated and unsatisfied upon not getting the right nutrition. We (and others) don’t understand why we are so irritated, but the reason is simple – not getting the right nutrition on which the body can work to create our blood, muscles, bones and new cells to replace dead cells. What it gets is a mass of fats which it sends for storing and sits idle because of not getting any work to do and remains displeased!

What is the Solution?

Solution is simple – healthy eating! If you give something nutritious to your body which it can break and create lots of things useful for our health – like new cells, blood, bones and muscles – it will be happy!

Fish: If you are a fish-lover, you have good news that fish are superfoods! Especially oily fish, like mackerel, salmon and sardines help fight diseases like prostate cancer, cardiovascular disease, dementia and age-related vision loss. Fish are rich in proteins, some B vitamins, vitamin D, selenium and most importantly omega-3 fatty acids – a good fat.
