When it comes to beauty, anyone will agree that there’s nothing like natural and organic beauty aids. One such proven organic aid for the health and beauty of hair is castile soap. Here is the information on how it’s useful and how it should be used.
Castile soap shampoo is a natural shampoo with a base of vegetable oils and so, can increase the health and beauty of your hair.
Have Some Extra Time
Washing hair with castile soap shampoo is super easy. However, it needs a few extra minutes for preparations. You will have to prepare your washing and rinsing concoctions before stepping into the shower. That will make you more organized and will make your job simple.
Dilute the Shampoo
Castile shampoo has high alkalinity and this means that it can soon upset the natural pH balance of your hair if you use it in a large quantity. Therefore you should first dilute the shampoo. Use purified water for this purpose. It’s agreed that taking tap water is easier; however, even the cleanest tap water can contain chlorine as well as heavy metals that can damage your precious hair. The amount of water to be used may vary from person to person; here you’ll have to experiment a little and should have patience, and you’ll soon become an expert. Start with 1 tablespoon of shampoo and 2 cups of purified water and then experiment.
Use an Acidic Rinse
Since the castile soap shampoo is highly alkaline, using an acidic rinse like apple cider vinegar or lemon juice will help to restore the pH. But remember to dilute the acidic agent too with purified water. Start with around ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice mixed with 2 cups of water, and then experiment. Using a few drops of essential oil, such as lavender, will provide health benefits as well as offer a pleasant smell. After rinsing, run cold water over the hair so as to seal it.
NOTE: Don’t mix your castile soap shampoo and the acidic agent together. They will neutralize each other and will turn into salt and water, in short useless.
End it with Oil
Since we’ll no longer be using a conditioner, we’ll have to find another way of moisturizing and oil is the best for this. You can use any one as per your choice, like coconut, almond, apricot, avocado, jojoba or argan. Only make sure it doesn’t have any unnatural contents.
Using castile soap shampoo will reduce your need of washing your hair too frequently and make it soft, healthy and shiny. So, try it and enjoy healthy hair!
