It’s a nice combination when a successful health insurance advisor organizes an event for a health cause. We are talking about Lorne Marr who organized a wonderful bowling event this February to help Lupus Ontario, a charity helping lupus patients. Lorne Marr is the Director of New Business Development of LSM Insurance in Markham, Ontario. CFP, MBA, and a health insurance advisor for more than 11 years, Lorne Marr has been an eligible MDRT member since 1994 and this year he qualified for MDRT Court of the Table. Lorne Marr believes in keeping a healthy balance between personal and business life, and also involves himself in philanthropy.
The bowling event was just a small evidence of this philanthropic element of Lorne Marr which was held on 7th February 2014. This was the first Lupus/LSM Charity Bowling Event.
The people at Lupus Ontario work hard every day to improve the quality of life of lupus patients. Therefore LSM Insurance felt indeed proud to work with them and sponsor the inaugural Lupus/LSM charity bowling event.
Minimum donation was of $35 and the event had prizes like:
- The team with the overall best score
- The top single game score
- The team with the lowest score
What’s more, there was also a yummy, but difficult-to-achieve prize of “turkey” for bowling consecutively three strikes.
With this fabulous event, LSM Insurance raised more than $2,000. They also matched the first $500 raised.
Lupus is an autoimmune disorder which means that body’s own immune system starts attacking body’s own cells.
